The Fractional COO

The OERA is a 150-minute diagnostic designed to assess the existing operational architecture of a founder-led business and identify where critical knowledge, decisions, relationships and capabilities remain dependent on individuals rather than being embedded within the organisation.

It provides a structured assessment of the business's operational readiness for investment, succession and exit, establishing the areas where intervention may be required to strengthen institutional capability.
 

The Scope of Assessment
 

The OERA assesses the business across four critical vectors:
 

M1 - Founder Dependency: Identifying where critical decisions, knowledge and operational activity remain dependent on the founder.

M2 - Logic Portability: Assessing how much of the company's critical operational logic is documented, transferable and embedded within the business.

M3 - Asset Hardening: Identifying operational friction, dependency and avoidable leakage that may be limiting performance and scalability.

M4 - Systematic Verification: Assessing whether the business has the information, controls and evidence required to support investment, succession or exit readiness.
 

The Deliverable: The Hardening Roadmap

Following the assessment, a Hardening Roadmap is produced. It identifies:

The Architectural Priorities: The areas requiring intervention to reduce dependency and strengthen institutional capability.
